Who am I?

Hello, my name is Deniz, and I am an IBCLC (International Board-Certified Lactation Consultant). I am also a registered nurse with maternal-newborn nursing (RNC-MNN) and public health nursing (PHN) certifications. I am currently pursuing a doctorate degree at the University of California, Irvine. My full title goes as, (BSN, RNC-MNN, PHN, IBCLC, DNP-s). I have been working with mothers and babies for several years, and as a dedicated healthcare professional, I am passionate about providing the highest quality care and support to help mothers make informed decisions about feeding their infants.

Why me?

I'm just like you!

My passion for lactation consulting began when I became a mother myself and experienced the difficulties of breastfeeding firsthand. As someone coming from a minority background, I am aware of the unique challenges and health disparities women face when it comes to breastfeeding, which is why they need lactation help the most. However, these women have less access to lactation support due to a variety of factors, including cultural beliefs, language barriers, and socioeconomic challenges.

As a floor nurse in well-known OC hospitals, I’ve had the opportunity to work with mothers and infants from diverse backgrounds. Through this experience, I gained a deep understanding of the unique challenges and barriers that mothers may encounter when trying to initiate and maintain breastfeeding. I have seen firsthand how cultural beliefs, a lack of awareness, and/or medical conditions can hinder a mother’s ability to breastfeed successfully. This realization has inspired me to offer culturally tailored support and guidance to every mother and baby I work with, recognizing that each mother’s journey is unique. In the meantime, I have volunteered at my local WIC offices to be able to help more mothers without medical insurance.

After working with mothers and babies from diverse backgrounds for several years, I have decided to expand my knowledge and expertise to offer more specialized care to all women. I got my IBCLC training at the highly regarded University of California, San Diego, which gave me a complete education and training in lactation consulting.

I know that breastfeeding can be a beautiful and rewarding experience, but it can also be challenging and overwhelming at times. I am dedicated to providing compassionate and evidence-based care to every mother I work with. I believe that every mother should have access to the resources and support she needs to establish and maintain a successful breastfeeding relationship with her infant. I recognize that not all mothers can or choose to breastfeed, and formula feeding can be a perfectly safe and healthy alternative for their babies. I will support you in a non-judgmental way if you decide to formula feed by providing you with accurate and evidence-based information about different types of formula, proper preparation, and feeding techniques.

Whether you are a first-time mother or have breastfed multiple children, I am here to provide the guidance and support you need to succeed. My goal is to help every mother and baby experience the many benefits of breastmilk, including improved health outcomes, a stronger bond between mother and child, and a sense of empowerment and confidence. I am committed to providing the highest level of care and support to every mother I work with, and I look forward to supporting you on your breastfeeding journey.

I offer a range of services, including prenatal breastfeeding education, postpartum lactation support, and help with breastfeeding challenges such as latching difficulties, low milk supply, nipple pain, pumping, bottle feeding, etc.

I come to see you in the comfort of your home with my highly accurate scale, or you can talk to me online.

Helped Put My Mind At Ease

Coming home from the hospital as a first time mom, I had a lot of questions, concerns, and worries. Am I doing this right? Why does it hurt? How do I use a Haaka or pump? Deniz came to my house 4 days after my daughter was born and she was amazing. Her knowledge, professionalism and experience was beyond what I could have imagined. Deniz answered all the questions that I had and helped put my mind at ease. She taught me and my daughter techniques and tools that helped us on our breastfeeding journey. I highly recommend Deniz to any newborn mom!!
